A translator with a deep connection to the German language
My relationship with the German language began at an early age and grew into a deep and substantial command of it, which I later chose to pursue academically as well, with studies in German Language and Literature in Greece and in Germany.
My many years living and working in Germany allowed me to know the language not only academically, but also through its everyday and professional use. My training is complemented by specialised seminars in legal and medical terminology, fields where accuracy and the correct rendering of specialised terminology carry particular weight.
Since 2019 I have practised as a registered sworn translator, providing sworn translations between German and Greek.
For me, translating an official document is not merely transferring words from one language to another. It calls for accuracy, a genuine understanding of the content and attention to detail, so that the final document faithfully renders the original.
Personal communication is a core part of my approach. From the first contact to delivery, each project is handled individually, with clear information on the process, the cost and the delivery time.

What is a sworn translation and where do I find a sworn translator?
A sworn translator is listed in the Register of Sworn Translators, which is maintained by the Council for the Registration of Sworn Translators and published by the PIO, the Press and Information Office, under Law 45(I)/2019. You will also see the terms certified or official translation, which mean the same thing. Eleni Diou is a registered sworn translator, Register No. 094.
Is the translation accepted by authorities and courts?
Yes. Under Law 45(I)/2019, state services, courts and independent authorities of the Republic use sworn translators exclusively for certified translations. The translation is accepted for official use within and outside Cyprus.
Which language combinations do you cover?
Sworn translations from German to Greek and from Greek to German. Under the law, every sworn translation passes through Greek, so this combination fully covers your official needs.
